Chapter 15 – GitScrum Documents, your cloud to organize your project files

GitScrum Documents is your cloud inside your project management tool, where you can store and organize all your project documents, relating them to your Tasks. This is very helpful because when you need valuable documents, you won’t need to waste time searching for them in many storage services, they will be already there. When you manage projects with your team, you will be sure all team members are saving documents in the same place, and avoid missing important files, which is common when each person saves files in random places. Get everything together, safe and handy with GitScrum Documents, with unlimited storage space!

What is GitScrum Documents for?

  • Saving documents inside your projects;
  • Keeping your project files safe, with all team members saving a copy of their productions into the projects;
  • Keep a record of all your project’s progress and productions;
  • Backing up your productions.

How can I add a document to a Project?

  1. Open your project.
  2. On the Sidebar, click “Documents.”
  3. Drag and drop your file to the white box to upload your file to your project, or click the white box to select a file from your computer.
    OR, use the buttons above to choose a file from Dropbox or Google Drive.

How to delete a document from a project?

  1. Open your project.
  2. On the Sidebar, click “Documents.”
  3. Visualize the document you want to delete on the files list (or search for its name ?).
  4. Click “Delete” on the document.
  5. Confirm “Yes” to “Do you really want to delete?”.

How can I attach a file to a Task?

  1. Open your Task.
  2. Click “Attachments”.
  3. Drag and drop your file to the white box to upload your file to your project, or click the white box to select a file from your computer.
  4. Visualize the attachment and close the Task.

  1. Open the Task where the file is placed.
  2. Click “Attachments”.
  3. Visualize the file you want to delete.
  4. Click “Delete”.
  5. Confirm “Yes” to “Do you really want to delete?”.

How can I search for a document in GitScrum?

  1. Open your project.
  2. On the Sidebar, click “Documents.”
  3. Your documents will appear on the Document’s list on this page.
  4. Type the name of a document in the Document’s header bar field, and click the Search icon (?) to find it.
  5. Your document must appear.

How many documents can I add to my GitScrum?

There are no limits for number of documents, you can add as many as you want, provided that they meet the size-limit (50mb).

What is the size limit for a file upload, and file formats?

You can upload any file formats, up to 50mb each individual file.

How can I view a document’s details?

  1. Open your project.
  2. On the Sidebar, click “Documents.”
  3. Your document’s list will show on this page.
  4. To view a document’s details, click “View More” next to the document’s name.

How can I download a document from a project?

  1. Open your project.
  2. On the Sidebar, click “Documents.”
  3. Your document’s list will show on this page.
  4. Click “View More” next to the name of the document you want to download.
  5. Click “Download” on the details screen of the document.

How can I view a document’s related Task?

  1. Open your project.
  2. On the Sidebar, click “Documents.”
  3. Your document’s list will show on this page.
  4. To view a document’s related Task, click “See Task” next to the document’s name.
  5. The Task will be opened.

How can I comment on a project’s document?

  1. Open your project.
  2. On the Sidebar, click “Documents.”
  3. Your document’s list will show on this page.
  4. Click “View more” on the document you want to comment on.
  5. The document will be opened – use the Comments box (text box) to type and edit your comments.
    Notice that this text box is identical to the text box in your Tasks, so you can use rich formatting, include images and embed videos in it.

How can I visualize an image file fast, without opening it, in GitScrum?

  1. Open your project.
  2. On the Sidebar, click “Documents.”
  3. Your document’s list will show on this page.
  4. Double-click the image file you want to magnify.
  5. The image will be shown larger.
  6. To close it, click (x).
